Nice scenery along Khlong Bang Luang

Today, I and my family and friends rented a long-tailed boat to tour Khlong Bang Luang (Bangkok Yai canal) in Thonburi side of Bangkok. It was a pleasant ride. The atmosphere reminded me of life several decades ago in Thonburi town, now integrated into a part of Bangkok, as we could see people's simple and quiet lives along the canal. Many old houses were unfortunately in ruined conditions, perhaps due to severe floods in the recent past, yet some are admirably well-maintained.

The down side is that I had to turn my eyes away from styrofoam cups and boxes littered along the canal. Water quality in smaller canals were not so good as I could see from its dark color. I wished Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) governor ordered a major clean up one day.

I hope anyone would enjoy scenes in the pictures I took.
